The challenge started from the Five Rise Locks on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Bingley, and finished back at the Pland Stainless premises on the Lower Wortley Ring Road, Leeds.

Each year Pland Stainless undertakes a charity activity for a different charity and this year the NSPCC was chosen as the nominated charity following feedback from staff.

Steve Duree, commercial director at Pland Stainless, who took part in the walk, said: “Each year we choose a charity to raise funds for and this year we picked the NSPCC.

“Although we have undertaken a variety of fund raising activities in the past, this is the first time we have done a sponsored walk. There were a few sore feet at the end of the day but everyone enjoyed themselves and we are delighted to have raised over £1100 for the NSPCC.”
