Operations merge after acquisition

Wienerberger have recently completed the acquisition of Baggeridge Brick by consolidating the head offices of the two companies.
All operations have been moved to Wienerberger’s offices in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, and the UK board now sees a blend of Wienerberger and Baggeridge directors, with Alan Baxter, former chief executive of Baggeridge, becoming ceo of the new company.

The integration will bring a number of benefits to customers, say the company. Fourteen manufacturing sites and two distribution depots around the UK will mean quicker and more efficient deliveries as well as making Wienerberger a local supplier on a national scale.

The combined product range is also comprehensive with a broad range of facing bricks, blue bricks, class B engineering bricks and special shaped bricks. The company now also has a wide range of pavers, an extensive range of clay roof tiles promoted under the Koramic brand, as well as two cladding systems – Corium and ArGeTon.

Alan Baxter, CEO of Wienerberger UK said: “2008 is sure to be an exciting year for Wienerberger and we are now ready to move forward as one company. Wienerberger and Baggeridge complement each other perfectly and we are now able to offer our customers a lot more in terms of choice and availability.”
