Two of Continental Underfloor Heating’s staff, James Garrod and Peter Hopper, are on top of the world (literally) after successfully climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and raising over £7,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The pair decided to make Africa’s highest peak their goal after employees at Continental Underfloor Heating, based in Bude, were offered an extra week’s holiday on full pay this year – if they spent it working or fund-raising for a charity.
Managing director Chris Ingram wanted to reward his staff, which he describes as “incredibly loyal and dedicated”. He said, “I felt they deserved an opportunity to do something extraordinary and put something back, with the assistance of their employer. James and Peter’s climb raised a substantial sum of money and I’m pleased that we’ve got people of this calibre in our business.”
