Britain’s most successful female marathon kayaker, Anna Hemmings MBE, is the latest speaker signed up for the BMF All Industry Conference 2015.

Hemmings overcame a chronic condition mid-career and went on to win three World titles and to compete in her second Olympic games.

After retiring from elite sport she founded Beyond the Barriers, a company that gives people the tools to perform at their best, be it in sport, business or life.

Her inspirational story is one of triumph over adversity and delivers valuable lessons on developing resilience, sustaining high performance and how to achieve unwavering self-belief and confidence.

After her early sporting success, the kayaker was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and told she may never race again. Her ‘never give up’ attitude enabled her to make a full recovery and go on to win her second hat-trick of three consecutive world titles and to compete at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Throughout her career she won eleven World and European Championship medals, including six world champion titles.

John Newcomb, BMF MD said: “Anna Hemmings may be a member of the sporting elite but her inspirational story of commitment, tenacity and self-belief is equally relevant to those aiming to be part of the business elite.

“Her experience directly reflects our Conference theme, Building Momentum and Focus, and I’m sure we can learn a great deal from her experience of overcoming a seemingly insurmountable obstacle and going on to greater success.”

The 2015 All-Industry Conference takes place in Malta from 18th-21st June 2015 at the five star Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julians Bay and will be hosted by Olympic and Commonwealth medal winner and TV presenter, Sharron Davies.

Former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell, TV builder Tommy Walsh and the ‘Billy Connolly of marketing’ Geoff Ramm have all been signed up to appear at the Conference.
