NYT launch roof truss offer

Yorkshire timber merchants North Yorkshire Timber has opened a roof truss manufacturing operation at Catterick.

The operation will be part of the company’s engineered wood products division and production is due to start next month.

The new unit will employ two staff this year, increasing to four in 2010. NYT plan to grow roof truss sales to £500,000 in the next 12 to 18 months.

NYT managing director, Nick Kershaw, said: “The introduction of this facility will allow customers to buy both trusses and I-joists from just one supplier. In addition, they will be able to speak directly with our in-house designers about their roof and floor layouts. Our customers have told us that they want a complete service for engineered wood products, and that is why we are introducing this new facility.”
