Norbord recognised as responsible timber purchaser

The policy provides a framework to analyse the risk of illegal timber entering into its supply chains and introduces a phased approach to progressively source increasing proportions of timber products from credible and verified legal and sustainable sources.

Andrew Francis, general sales manager of Norbord, said: “Illegal timber products have no place in our industry. EUTR is a very important step towards the removal of illegal timber species from timber & panel products imported into the UK & Europe. We fully endorse the proactive approach taken by the Timber Trade Federation in providing the RPP framework for members, and are very pleased to be part of an industry organisation that is prepared to take such a leadership role.”
