NMBS Golf Day brings the industry together

Representatives from across the building, plumbing, heating, hardware and timber industries going head-to-head and playing for their pride at the 2013 NMBS Golf Day.
The competition took place at the Forest of Arden golf course, with 60 independent merchants and suppliers taking part, looking for networking opportunities and playing for glory.

Attendees were split into mixed groups, with 18 holes and 7,134 yards of play revealing the winners to be Paul Davis from Indesit, Ken Pepperell from P A Seccombe, Nick Drew from Drews Ltd and Tim Hoare from R C Bigwood.

Individual prizes were also handed out, with Andrew Woodruff (Independent Heating and Plumbing Supplies) in first place overall, Andrew Aspinell (A R Aspinell) winning longest drive and Marguerite Dickens (Martin and Partners) taking the Ladies prize.

Sam Hunt, NMBS events manager, called the golf day a “must-attend” event amongst independent merchants and suppliers, offering them an opportunity to mix business and pleasure.

“We’re delighted that in NMBS’ 50th year, the day proved as popular as ever and I would like to thank all those involved. I’d especially like to congratulate the winners for claiming victory in the face of some fairly stiff competition!”

The event was sponsored by a range of NMBS suppliers, with Vado, Makita and Polypipe acting as key sponsors for the day.
