The Huddersfield branch of builders merchant Gibbs and Dandy has appointed Andy Holmes as its new manager.
With over 25 years of experience, Holmes began his life in the trade as a site clerk for a Yorkshire-based house builder before moving into merchant sales. Over the years, he has worked for a number of companies in a wide variety of roles, including a national business development manager at an instrumentation company, as well as a sales manager for a timber frame construction company.
Holmes said: “I’m really proud of my experience and the vast understanding of the market, which I think puts me in very good stead to serve Gibbs & Dandy’s customers in this new role.
“My aim is to create a branch that is a centre of excellence in both dry lining and insulation. However, I will also ensure that we retain a strong presence in the heavy and light side of the merchant arm, as well as work as an expert centre of excellence to the other branches in the north in the field of dry lining and insulation.”
