NBG timber merchant gets chain of custody certificate

Innes Building & Timber (Merchants) Ltd of Grangemouth have been awarded FSC and PEFC-accredited Chain of Custody certification.
Innes Building & Timber Merchants Ltd were formed in April 2002 , trading from the former J.B. Fraser timber yard in Wood St, Grangemouth. The company supplies building, timber, joinery, landscaping and DIY products. They are merchant partners of NBG LLP, the buying organisation for independent merchants.

Having chain of custody certification means Innes will use the chain of custody number in the sales documentation. This link is part of a chain that links the end user to the forest where the trees grew, so that the end customer is reassured that the forest product they have bought has come from a sustainable source of timber.

The FSC(Forestry Stewardship Council) is a world wide, non- profit making, non- governmental organisation. It promotes the responsible growing, harvesting and on-going replanting of timber.

The PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) scheme promotes sustainably managed forests through independent third party certifications.
