Independent builders merchant buying group NBG LLP celebrated its relationships with suppliers on December 6 by awarding Supplier of the Year trophies for nine product categories.

The awards were presented at the group’s annual Christmas Conference by Simon Storer, director of external affairs at the Construction Products Association.
Storer said: “Construction accounts for 4% of the UK’s GDP yet the government does not give it the recognition that this deserves. We have to address energy concerns and we have to continue to refurbish the existing housing stock if the government is to achieve its climate control targets. There are something like 26 million homes needing refurbishment.”
Suppliers and merchants will be key in achieving this, Storer went on. “I am therefore delighted to be asked to present these awards.”
The winners included:
NBG members and suppliers also raised over £10,000 for the charities Help for Heroes, Ronald McDonald House, the Rainy Day Trust and Iron Man Triathlon through donations and a prize auction.
