Independent builders merchant buying group NBG has appointed Bob Davis as a category buyer for heavy-side building products.
Davis, formerly a buyer at Grafton Group, has joined NBG to add further professionalism and expertise to the buying function.
NBG managing director Nick Oates says: “Bob’s years of experience will help to ensure that the deals negotiated are the best possible and that the whole buying process works as effectively as it can for the benefit of both our Partners and our Suppliers.
“The NBG Partners will still be at the core of the buying function at NBG, making the final decisions on which suppliers to select. Bob’s appointment is not about removing emphasis from the co-operative ethos of NBG’s buying process. Rather, he will be using his experience to ensure our deals are competitive and to build even stronger relationships with our key suppliers.”
Davis says: “I am looking forward to working with the Partners and the category management teams at NBG, bringing my years of experience to augment what is already, a very professionally-run organisation.”
