Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Last night (September 20th) saw the presentation of the BMF/BMJ Young Achiever Awards for 2016, along with a range of other BMF awards, at the BMF Awards Dinner.
Bart Murphy from London builders merchants MP Moran took away the top prize, being named Young Merchant Achiever 2016.
In a nod to the recent Olympic and Paralympic games in Rio, the Young Merchant awards were Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Silver runner’s up trophy went to Howarth Timber and Building Supplies’ Alix Haddeston and MKM Building Supplies’ Darren Smith won the bronze medal prize.
Murphy, who is operations manager at MP Moran, impressed the judges with his commitment and passion and his ability to spot new sales opportunities and to take on new challenges within the business.
The evening also saw the presentation of two Young Supplier Achiever awards, to Encon Insulation’ James Rowlands (winner) and TI Midwood’s Rebecca Fortescue (highly commended).
