A new Premier Plus sponsor is Artegy, the specialist contract hire commercial vehicle company. Artegy currently manages more than 10,000 vehicles for customers across the UK and France, including leading builders merchants.

Latest supplier to sign up as a Premier sponsor of this year’s event is Dewsbury-based Rixonway Kitchens – the first time this company has come on board as a conference sponsor. Another sponsor, Tradepro, has increased its support for the event by upgrading from Premier to Premier Plus sponsor status.

The event is jointly organised by three leading industry organisations – NMBS, Unimer, and the BMF – together with BMJ and buildersmerchantsjournal.net

Merchants who attended the 2007 conference stressed the importance of the networking opportunities it created. “It’s a great concept which is well run and organised,” said Mike Wilson of Wilson Timber. “And it provides a tremendous opportunity to speak to so many individuals over a couple of days – it would probably take you most of the year to do this at home.”

Martin Lee of Buildbase agreed: “It’s a real melting pot for people in the industry,” he said. “With so many merchants and suppliers together in one place, the opportunity for ideas is unparalleled.”

The 2008 conference will be held at the five-star deluxe Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque Resort in Tenerife on June 26-29. TV gameshow host Nick Hancock has been confirmed as the facilitator, and top economic journalist Anthony Hilton, whose forecasts at the 2007 conference have proven uncannily accurate, will make a repeat appearance on the speaker list.

The conference package for merchants is an incredible deal: a three-night trip from Thursday to Sunday, including room, breakfast, airport transfers in Tenerife, welcome party, gala dinner and all conference sessions for just £350 per person for the first two people from each member company, and £799 per person for each additional person.
