More jobs at risk at Castle

Another 14 workers at Castle Cement in Ketton could be in line to lose their jobs, according to a report in the Rutland Times.
Two weeks ago, parent operating company Hanson UK announced that 35 people face the prospect of redundancy after a 30-day consultation period with the closing of two cement mills and one cement plant. Now a further 14 distribution workers are also believed to be affected

The firm has blamed the credit crunch for creating a declining demand for cement.

There are 360 people employed at the Ketton site.
