Independent builders merchants MKM Building Supplies has provided gardening equipment to help transform a disabled pensioner’s home in Peterlee, County Durham.
The merchant provided materials for BBC One’s DIY SOS: The Big Build programme, which enlists the help of local tradesmen to transform homes and gardens for those in desperate need.
Staff at MKM’s Peterlee branch were called in to help June Finlay, 64, who can barely talk, walk or use her hands due to a condition sparked by pneumonia.
The merchant supplied railway sleepers, planters, astro turf and a pergola for the show, which will be aired next year.
