MKM moves in on Burnley

Expanding independent builders merchant MKM Building Supplies has opened a new branch in Burnley, its 56th nationally.

The branch also contains kitchen and bathroom showrooms staffed by dedicated specialists, building materials, timber, roofing and joinery supplies as well as brick-matching and take-off services, as well as a landscaping display, containing all the appropriate supplies.

The new branch is located at Unit 26 on Enterprise Way and is headed up by an experienced duo of branch directors, Paul Swindells and Darren Snape. As well as the 15 new roles spanning showroom specialists to sales and yard assistants, MKM Burnley also brings a new vehicle fleet of two wagons and curtainsider lorries.

Swindells said: “Having spent plenty of time putting together the perfect team, we’re delighted to be opening in Burnley. In the crowded merchant sector, MKM prides itself on its customer service – so we urge local tradespeople and retail customers to give us a chance with their next building project.”

Snape added: “MKM is all about going the extra mile – providing unbeatable service, a fantastic product range and great prices. As the 56th national branch, we’re looking to replicate the success MKM has seen elsewhere in the UK by providing a unique merchanting experience.”

MKM is the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant, having grown steadily since it was founded in 1995; the Hull-based firm launched a milestone 50th branch last year, with plans for over 100 branches by 2022.
