Merchant makes it a merry Christmas

Thompson Building Centres will be distributing hundreds of presents this festive season to local hospitals, hospices and care homes.

Merchant makes it a merry Christmas

Starting on Monday, the builders merchant, with branches in Sunderland, Newcastle, Gateshead, South Shields and Durham, will let staff down tools and play Santa to distribute the gifts.

Recipients will include the children’s wards at Sunderland Royal Hospital and Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital, St Benedict’s Hospice in Sunderland and South Tyneside’s St Claire’s Hospice, Durham University hospital and Wearside and Tyneside Salvation Army hostels.

Donating gifts to various charities and good causes has become a festive season tradition at Thompson’s and staff dressed as Santa and elves will be distributing the presents over next week.
