Three Midlands manufacturers provide a high-tech tooling solution to Keystone & IG Masonry Supports, one of the UK’s leading building supplies company.
Keystone & IG Masonry Supports has developed a new brick on soffit system that drastically reduces on site labour requirements. The new system required some high-tech tooling options, and they reached out to SSC Laser for help. They also called in the support of Threeway Pressings, and Pemberton Engineering.
Andy Evans, SSC managing director, said: “The manufacture of specialised press tooling was beyond our expertise, however, we saw the massive potential in the brick on soffit product and didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity to carry on working with IG on the project.”
Threeway Pressings helped to make the brackets for the new product, whereas Pemberton Engineering was called in to design and manufacture the tooling.
Darren Pemberton, operations director, commented: “Phil and Andy visited me to explain what was required, we were very confident that we could produce the tooling to give the consistency of product IG required and manufactured the tool within four weeks.”
Tim Turner, IG Masonry Supports operations manager, added: “The three Made In The Midlands members were determined to find a solution to our requirements and we are delighted with the outcome. We look forward to working with them on future projects.”
