Man dies in quarry accident

A 24-year-old man died in an accident at Aggregate Industries’ Glensanda Quarry in Argyll last week.

Kenneth Campbell, from Oban. who worked as a mechanical fitter, was the only occupant of a Land Rover which is believed to have overturned at the remote quarry. Europe’s biggest granite quarry, it can only be reached by ferry from Oban and Barcaldine.

The Health and Safety Executive is helping the police investigation.
