Lotto win for Parker employee

One lucky builders merchants employee had a great reason for not turning up at work this month – the fact he’d become a millionaire over the weekend!

Lotto win for Parker employee

John Pinyoun, a long-standing employee at Uckfield branch of Parker Building Supplies scooped £2.3m on the lottery at the end of March

John and his wife Jacqui, from Langney Point, Eastbourne, have said they will fulfil a lifelong ambition to travel, thanks to the win.

Mr Pinyoun, 61, said of the moment he realised he had all six numbers: “We couldn’t believe it. We were so excited we couldn’t finish our dinner and didn’t leave the house all evening. We just phoned some close family members and told them the good news.

“I phoned my boss, Stewart Pierce on Sunday evening to say I have got a problem but that it was a nice problem and that I needed two or three days off. I would have said, ‘Sorry, tough’ but his reaction was very, very good and he said I could take as long as I liked!”
