Last call for the Rainy Day Trust Karting Challenge

Places are still available for the 2014 Rainy Day Trust Karting Challenge – but you need to be quick!
This year’s challenge is on Sunday June 1, at the TeamSport track at Warrington – the largest purpose-built indoor karting track in the UK.

Challenge organiser David Hibbert of Stax Trade Centres reports that the 2014 event is again well supported, but that there’s always room for an extra team. It’s not only a fun day out – it’s a bargain price, too, with the entry fee for a team of three drivers at just £349 plus VAT. And because the circuit’s indoors, the event is weather-proof.

Over the past 20 years, the Karting Challenge has provided a fun day out for hundreds of people in the home improvement industry. It’s also an excellent networking opportunity – and it raises thousands of pounds for the Rainy Day Trust, the industry charity.

It doesn’t matter if you have never driven a kart before – they are easy to handle. Automatic transmission means all you have to do is press the pedal and steer. They can reach speeds up to 40mph – and when you’re only inches off the tarmac, that feels pretty fast! But the speeds are governed to the track, and the event has a 100% safety record – and helmets and race suits are supplied. And if you can’t find three drivers yourself, David Hibbert can always find an extra driver to make a team – in fact he has been known to make up an entire team for a company which wanted to sponsor the event but couldn’t find anyone to take part!

There’s a bar, and catering and food are available at the Chequered Flag Café; an electronic timing system with LCD screens helps you keep on top of the positions as the day progresses; and every driver gets a digital track timesheet to take home.

To find out more, or to get your name on the list, contact David Hibbert on 0161 728 8025, or email david.hibbert@staxplc.co.uk. But don’t leave it too long!
