As well as showcasing its latest innovations in sustainable building products, Lafarge will use the Ecobuild exhibition as a platform for its new ‘Sustain-Able’ campaign.
Lafarge will showcase its sustainable bulk cement, PhoenixTM, and packed cements alongside its range of sustainable readymix concretes, including self-compacting AgiliaTM, low-shrink ExtensiaTM rapid-setting ChronoliaTM and Sustainable Asphalt EnvirophaltTM .
As part of the Sustain-Able campaign Lafarge is championing the use of waste by-products from other industries both as fuels and as components of the finished cement. An example of this is the use of fly-ash in Phoenix, which is the principal sustainable cement in Lafarge bulk portfolio and offers end-users a material which has a lower embodied CO2 value than standard Portland cement.
Lafarge’s Land and Planning team will talk about some of Lafarge Cement’s sustainable regeneration projects including the former cement works at Weardale, County Durham, which will be the first location in the UK with all five land-based forms of renewable energy on site.
