Lafarge Plasterboard wins responsible sourcing badge

Plasterboard manufacturer Lafarge Plasterboard has been awarded the BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing Certificate developed by BRE Global.
The BES 6001 framework standard is an independent certification scheme, launched at the start of 2009, to assess responsible sourcing policies and practices throughout the construction product supply chain. The universal rating system enables architects, designers and builders to more easily meet sustainability targets and move towards zero-carbon buildings.

To achieve BES 6001, Lafarge Plasterboard had to demonstrate responsible practices in managing its supply chain and also comply with a range of strict criteria relating to environmental and social issues such as recycling, transportation, emissions and minimising use of raw materials.

Steve Hemmings, sustainability manager at Lafarge Plasterboard says: “Finding ways to support our clients is a key driver at Lafarge Plasterboard and this accreditation is a great way of doing that.”
