Used as an alternative to cement particle boards, for wet and high humidity applications Aqua Board can also be used as a sheathing board, particularly for External Insulation Façade Systems and other external applications such as soffits and canopies.

Lafarge has now introduced a 15mm size board which delivers additional performance benefits for commercial applications, including enhanced sound, impact and fire performance.

Julien Soulhat, technical manager for Lafarge, said: “Aqua Board has been designed as a water and mould resistant gypsum board. The new 15mm and original 12.5mm specifications are both lightweight and easy to cut, allowing dramatically reduced installation times. This makes Aqua Board an ideal alternative to heavier cement boards in wet and high humidity areas. Aqua Board is suitable for both internal and external applications, and has BBA certification for single layer application as part of an External Insulation Façade System.”
