Lafarge Cement has been named 2009 Supplier of the Year by builders merchant Buildbase’s Scottish region.
The award followes a vote by managers at 15 branches across the country.
Lafarge Cement recently held a joint national promotion with Buildbase – giving customers the chance to win a new van by purchasing Lafarge’s plastic packed cements including Mastercrete which is made at Lafarge’s Dunbar Works.
Colin Peacock, regional director for Buildbase Scotland, says: “With tightened purse strings 2009 was a challenging year and at Buildbase we focused on offering our customers value-added products and marketing initiatives to drive sales. Lafarge Cement’s Mastercrete in Plastic and our recent sales promotion was paramount to this, but all-round sales and logistical support are also important. The overall customer service provided by our suppliers is key to the success of our business and Lafarge Cement consistently delivers to an outstanding level in this regard.”
Last month Lafarge Cement picked up four awards at independent buying group NBG LLP’s supplier wards, including supplier of the year.
