Knauf Drywall goes all hairy

Plaster and plasterboard supplier Knauf Drywall went one up on those growing moustaches to raise charitable funds and awareness about prostate cancer for the month of ‘Movember’, by christening October ‘Beardtober’.

The company encouraged anyone who could grow facial hair to do so and donate £25 to The Prostate Project for the privilege. They were also asked to raise sponsorship from friends, family and non-beardy colleagues and raised over £,7000 for the charity.

To best judge who produced the best beard in Beardtober, all Knauf Drywall participants participated in a controlled ‘shave off’ on September 30 – with David Riddell, national account controller, receiving an award for sprouting the most prolific set. There was also an award for the worst beard – Dan Dixon, Flooring Business Development Manager.

Ian Dean, sales and marketing director says: “We were in a pretty dishevelled state during Beardtober and it sure was an itchy month, but it was all for a very good cause.”
