Keymer, the premium handmade roof tile brand, has officially been relaunched from its new home at Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory in Surrey.
Now owned by Wienerberger, Keymer is one of the oldest operational brands in the world, and is making only its fourth move in 400 years.
Wienerberger’s Ewhurst factory, which was officially reopened by Brandon Lewis MP, Minister for Housing and Planning on 2nd March 2015, is where Keymer’s handmade clay tiles will continue to be produced using the orange clays of the South Weald and the same traditional equipment and processes.
Wienerberger managing director Harald Schwarzmayr said: “This is a very exciting time for both Wienerberger and Keymer and it is fantastic to be able to officially launch the brand from its new home at Ewhurst. The addition of the Keymer brand, which was established in 1588, to the Wienerberger portfolio has expanded our product offering to include these unique beautiful, traditional handmade tiles, and ensures that this UK heritage brand is in safe hands for the future.
“Following its move to Wienerberger, we will continue to supply Keymer tiles and products manufactured using the same traditional processes and to the same quality and standards which are synonymous with the celebrated Keymer brand.”
