Kent Blaxill director retires

Mr Rix, who joined the Colchester branch as an apprentice in 1960, was appointed assistant company secretary in 1980, a company director in 1992, latterly becoming personnel and administration director.

Managing director Simon said: “Kelvin has been a real stalwart of Kent Blaxill. He worked his way up through the company, taking evening classes, including an HND in Business Studies, to acquire the skills he needed.

“He also had a sense of humour that lightened the atmosphere in many a meeting, as well as being a great raconteur.”

Mr Rix plans to pursue his interests now he has retired, including taking on an allotment. He has also begun compiling some light-hearted reminiscences of 47 years at Kent Blaxill.
