Kellaway peaks with fundraising challenge

A team of eight people from Bristol based builders merchant kellaway Building Supplies has completed the Five Peaks Challege as part of its fundraising efforts for Kellaway chosen charity Children’s Hospice South West.

The team, made up of branch and head office staff, completed the challenge scaling five of the largest peaks in the Lake District in under10 hours. The challenge, already a tough one for the inexperienced climbers was made even more difficult by tough weather conditions, injury and their mini-bus breaking down.

The Five Peaks Challenge raised £2054.25, taking the company over its initial target of £10,000 for the local charity, with the total now standing at £12,223.59 raised in the past year.

Commercial and operations director Sean Morgan said: “We are delighted to have raised so much for such a worthy local charity. CHSW supports families in the most difficult situations, supporting both the healthy and unhealthy members of the family to ensure they can have as normal a life as possible.”

Branches and head office have come up with fun ideas to engage with, and customers have bought into the whole idea brilliantly. It’s had a really positive effect on team unity within the company and staff are really proud of what they have all achieved. We will definitely be looking to beat our 2017 target in 2018.”
