Kellaway Building Supplies raises money for Children’s Hospice South West

Bristol based builders merchant Kellaway Building Supplies has completed its first year of fundraising for its 2017 chosen charity; Children’s Hospice South West.

The company raised a total of £13,195.73 for the charity that provides end of life care and support for children with life-limiting illnesses.

With the success of the 2017 fundraising, the company will continue its efforts by supporting St Peters Hospice in 2018 with the aim of raising £15,000 to help the building of its In-Patient Unit, which is due for completion in 2019 at a total cost of £6.5million and still requires over £700,000 to complete the project; we hope to support them in getting to this target.

Kellaway commercial and operations director Sean Morgan said: “2017 was the first year we have had a headline charity, and the staff and the customers have supported the initiatives brilliantly, we really couldn’t have wished for more.

“After the success we have had from 2017 we are targeting an even bigger amount raised in 2018 for St Peters Hospice; a local charity which cares for terminally ill patients from Bristol and the surrounding areas. A lot of the staff have had experiences with loved ones being cared for by the hospice, which makes it all the more poignant that we support them and raise as much as possible. We have lots of great ideas for fundraising that the staff are keen to support and dedicate their time and money to, so we are confident we will beat our target of £15,000 for this great cause.”

Kate Fisher, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West says, ‘The team at Kellaway have had an amazing 18 months supporting Bristol’s children’s hospice, Charlton Farm. It’s a true testament to the power of company fundraising; with support from their suppliers, employees and customers, they have raised huge funds for children with life-limiting conditions and their families who use our service 365 days a year. This year, Charlton Farm is supporting the greatest number of families ever and the generous donation from Kellaway will ensure that we can continue to give the best in respite, emergency and end of life care to every one of these families. A huge thank you from all of us at Children’s Hospice South West.’
