JRC Roofing Distributors Ltd, supplier to builders merchants across the UK, teamed up with local businesses, organisations and influential figures to raise money for BBC Children in Need 2013.
The distributor, based in Burnley, ran a blind auction for 12 days with lots of donated items auctioned off. Clues for each item were posted on the company’s social media sites and soon after the bids were rolling in.
JRC managed to raise £230.22 in total and received donations from a variety of sources including UCLan Burnley Campus, Burnley Football Club, MP Gordon Birtwistle & Burnley Borough Council.
Rosie Connor, director of planning at JRC, said: “Our fundraising for Children in Need this year has been a huge success. We contacted local companies to see if they could contribute a small gift for our blind auction and we were really pleased with the response. It is great to see local businesses pulling together for such a good cause.”
In the last year alone, Children in Need has helped fund schemes throughout the North West such as CVS in Burnley, the Foxton Centre in Preston and Carers Link in Accrington.
