JP Corry wins NI builders merchant award

Northern Ireland builders merchant J P Corry has been named overall winner in the first Octabuild Northern Ireland Builders Merchant Awards.
The judging criteria were customer service, merchandising, management systems, housekeeping and health & safety.

The company’s Belfast branch also won the Co Antrim award, while the Ballymena branch won the marketing award.

JP Corry is part of Saint Gobain Building Distribution, and a sister company to Jewson and Graham.

Nick Hughes, branch manager, at J P Corry received the award from Edwin Poots, MLA, and Minister for the Environment.

The other builders merchants receiving awards were:

  • Haldane Fisher, Newry: Co Down and Large Business Award

  • B McNamee & Co Ltd, Tyron: Co Tyrone and Family Business Awards.

  • Jacob’s Building Supplies, Coleraine:Co Londonderry Award

  • N.G. Bell & Son Ltd, Newtownards: Small Business Award

  • Brooks Building Merchants, Cookstown: Heavy Goods Award.

  • Murdocks Builders Merchants, Newry: Trade Counter Award

  • Eglinton Building Supplies in Co Londonderry: Management Systems Award.

  • Bangor Building Supplies, Co Down: Merchandising Award

  • P. McDermott & Sons, Omagh: Customer Service Award.

  • Peter Woods Building Supplies, Belfast: Housekeeping/Health & Safety Award

    The building material manufacturers who organised the awards as Octabuild are: Gyproc, Evo-Stik, Dulux Paints, Kingspan Insulation, Sanbra Fyffe, Tegral and Wavin.
