As spring finally arrives, now may be the time to refresh and protect exterior woodwork, which has been exposed to the elements over the past 12 months. And Johnstone’s range of woodstains may be ideal for the job.

Johnstone's range good for wood

Part of the Woodworks range, Johnstone’s Satin Woodstain is a high performance coating that offers excellent adhesion and moisture control of bare wood. The performance of the coating has been independently tested and approved by the British Board of Agrément (BBA). Specifically formulated for use on smooth timber joinery, Johnstone’s Satin Woodstain id great for doors, windows, fascia boards, cladding and garden furniture.

Johnstone’s Satin Woodstain provides a smooth, microporous, durable U- resistant finish that highlights the natural grain of the wood and offers up to five years of protection. The subtle satin finish of the coating also makes it suitable for the treatment of internal wood.

A quick drying water-based version is also available and has been formulated to protect and stain smooth planed hardwoods and softwoods. It also provides protection against cracking, blistering and peeling.

Touch-dry in just one hour, it is ideally suited for jobs that require a quick turnaround by ensuring that most tasks can be completed in one day.

For a lower sheen finish, Johnstone’s Matt Woodstain is formulated to provide a protective microporous coating which resists cracking, blistering and peeling. Johnstone’s Matt Woodstain is ideal for treating rough sawn timber, bargeboards, cladding and decking.

Both Johnstone’s Satin Woodstain and Matt Woodstain are available in a clear finish and a range of colours: Walnut; Pine; Antique Pine; Ebony; Jacobean Oak; Light Oak; Mahogany; Medium Oak; Rosewood; Teak and Redwood.
