The best of the best in painting and decorating have been recognised at the 25th annual Painter of the Year awards.
Organised by paint manufacturer Johnstone’s, the awards celebrate the talents and workmanship of the UK’s painting and decorating professionals. More than 100 submissions were received from companies that had used either Johnstone’s or Leyland paints to complete contracts throughout 2007. And, after being carefully reviewed by members of Johnstone’s technical team, 16 finalists were selected to attend the ceremony on March 29th 2008 at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire.
The awards are divided into four main project categories – Residential, Commercial, Refurbishment and Special Interest. Out of these individual group winners, one company was then awarded the title of Johnstone’s Painter of the Year ‘Supreme Winner’.
The ‘Supreme Winner’ was Doncaster-based company J Ibbotson Ltd, after being recognised in the Refurbishment category for its work on the Royal Hall project in Harrogate. As ‘Supreme Winner’, the company drove away in a brand new van that had been fully sign written.
