John Nicholls to open supersite in Bicester

Independent builders merchant John Nicholls (Trading) Ltd have announced the opening of their first Supersite, planned for early 2016.
This marks the next stage of the company’s expansion plan after the acquisition of J&B’s Plumbing & Heating Merchants in late 2014 and the opening of their first “high street” bathroom solutions showroom in Kidlington in May.

The group currently has 16 branches and showrooms and the new site at Bicester will be the largest single site within the Nicholls Group consisting of 40,000 sq ft of warehouse and office space as well as a large yard area.

The site will incorporate all the Nicholls core businesses: Building & Timber, Plumbing & Heating, Kitchens & Bathrooms and new business ventures including trade services, direct-to-site delivery options, van-size parking spaces and an in-branch cafe.

Andrew Nicholls, Chief Executive of the Nicholls Group said: “It’s fantastic news to be extending our presence within Bicester and Oxfordshire through the opening of our first “Supersite”. We have been established in Bicester since 1998 and have first hand experience of how the town is, and will develop in the coming years.

“Coupled with our local knowledge and the projected growth of the town which is already widely acknowledged as one of the fastest growing towns in Europe, our new business location offers a massive opportunity to the Nicholls Group, the people of Bicester and the local economy. The sheer scale of our new site allows us to increase the services we offer including electrical, joinery, roofing, renewable technologies, decorating, tool hire and online trading whilst also enhancing our core Building & Timber, Plumbing & Heating and Kitchen & Bathroom businesses to provide the best possible offering to our customers”
