Jewson to improve on Yorkshire efficiency

The contract, worth £1.5m, will enable the housing association to use Jewson’s Scarborough and Whitby branches for materials as well as an invaluable van re-stocking service.

The aim is to improve efficiencies across the housing association’s planned and reactive repair service.

Yorkshire Coast Homes has a portfolio of 4,600 properties across North Yorkshire. At the end of 2012, it brought its reactive repairs service in-house, which meant major re-organisation was required. The new contract with Jewson is crucial to ensure that during the period of change and beyond – high levels of service for tenants is maintained.

In addition, Jewson will supply Yorkshire Coast Homes with a vital van re-stocking service, ensuring the right tools and materials are available for planned and on-going maintenance work. The vans will be kept regularly stocked helping to save time and ensure repair work is not hindered.
