Builders merchant Jewson celebrated the achievements of many of its employees at its annual awards evening last week (February 1).
Among the winners was Tom Donnelly (pictured), who picked up one of two Jewson Lifetime Achievement Awards. Donnelly joined the company 50 years ago last month. During his time at the builders merchant he has has worked in the yard, the sales office, on a forklift and even once crashed his md’s car.
The other Jewson Lifetime Achievement Award went to Mike Hoult, who joined the group through acquisition 41 years ago.
Build Center, now part of Jewson since the acquisition from Wolseley last year, also recognised Nigel Bevan from Hereford with a Lifetime Achievement Award, after his 46 years with the company.
The Build Center team also presented an outstanding achievement award to Ray Fountain, who has been with the company for 45 years and amongst whose achievements are an increase in ROS from 8% to 11%.
Simpson Strong-Tie won the suppliers’ Award for Innovation. Within Jewson Kammy Wilson won the Trainee of the Year Award while Marcus Jefford, manager of the Greenworks Training Academy, won the Service Excellence Award.
