Jeld-Wen turn waste into green fuel

Jeld-Wen are set to become one of the UK’s largest recyclers of timber waste.

Jeld-Wen turn waste into green fuel

By the end of the year they will have their own recycling plant in Lowestoft that will receive untreated timber from their production of doors, windows and stairs. It will produce virtually carbon-neutral pellets that will provide fuel for their own heating systems and for other businesses.

Jeld-Wen produce some 10,000 tonnes of untreated wood waste annually from their factories in Lowestoft, Melton Mowbray, Sheffield and Penrith. The pellets will be a sustainable fuel source resulting in lower CO2 emissions.
