JCB donates machinery to earthquake appeal

Digger and Teletruk manufacturer JCB has donated machinery worth more than £150,000 to help with the relief effort following the earthquake which hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra two weeks ago.

The quake, on September 30, left more than 1,100 dead and many more homeless.

The donation was made in response to an appeal from the Indonesian authorities for foreign aid.

The machines are being made available to Satkorlak, the disaster response unit of the Indonesian authorities, by a JCB dealer in the country.
