It’s crunch time

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May

How is it possible that we are in the middle of May? I vaguely remember the Easter weekend – something about a lot of chocolate – but otherwise I’m really not sure what happened to much of March and April.

What this means is that it is now only two days to go until BMJ’s first industry awards event. At the Brewery in Chiswell Street, London, this awards is about celebrating the best of the best, with the decisions made by those who know best – the people in the industry.

Our host for the lunch is the fabulous Claudia Winkleman and I’m already a bit star-struck. It feels like I have been taking about little else for months, so I’m grateful to all of you who have indulged me by getting involved.

If you haven’t already booked your tickets then you will miss out on what I am sure will be a thoroughly enjoyable event, with great networking, fun, and convivial company. Although, if you do still want to come, drop me a line and I’ll see what I can do!

This industry is amazing and is full of great people working away on some fabulous brands – it’s why so many of us have stayed in it for so long. I’m really looking forward to seeing who has won what – I’ve been kept in the dark about the eventual winners in case I couldn’t keep a secret! I also wasn’t allowed to cast any votes myself as I couldn’t possibly be expected to choose a favourite.

So, good luck to everyone who is in the running for an award. I look forward to seeing you on Friday nd those of you who won’t be there – make sure you book your places for next year’s event.
