Interbuild launches merchant awards

Interbuild has launched an awards scheme with specialist categories for the merchant sector.

Interbuild launches merchant awards

The 2007 show (28 October – 1 November) signified a new era for merchant and contractor representation at Interbuild with the welcome return of Unimer Showcase and almost 10% of the 44,000-strong attendance being branch managers or buyers.

“We’ve worked hard to provide a fresh new lease of life for merchants at Interbuild,” said event director, James Gower. “Because of the renewed focus on this sector, we felt it appropriate to create a specialist category in the newly launched Interbuild Awards.”

The show is currently calling for visitor nominations for Best National, Best Specialist and Best Independent Merchant and a further award for Best Branch.

“We are asking the trade end users to rate merchants in terms of service levels, product and technical knowledge as well as the breadth of product range on offer,” says James. “Because we are calling to the customers direct, these categories carry extra kudos and will be a fantastic accolade for the winning merchants.”

Each visitor to the 2007 show will be allowed one nomination per merchant or branch in each of the relevant categories. The five most popular in each group will be shortlisted and an independent judging panel – made up of an impressive mix of industry professionals and press – will choose the overall winner, based on evidence given in the written nominations.

The winners will be announced at a glitzy ceremony held at The Royal Garden Hotel, London, on Wednesday 18th March 2008.
