The Institute of Builders Merchants will hold its AGM on March 8 at The Johnson Building in Derby College.
In addition to the AGM, attendees will have the opportunity to watch the Institute’s ‘Practical Building Skills Challenge Event as well as visiting The Roundhouse Building.
The aim of the Institute’s Practical Building Skills Challenge Event is for the teams to work with the products they sell in a fun and hands-on way.
The Roundhouse, built originally in 1827, was the world’s oldest steam locomotive workshop accommodating up to 32 engines and a central turntable for moving the engines around.
The multi million pound refurbishment and restoration of the Grade 2 listed building used the William Morris principle of ‘honest repair’, maintaining the overall character and features of the building to English Heritage standards.
