Impey Scoops Prestigious AJ Specification Award

Leading wetroom manufacturer Impey has been named the winner of a prestigious AJ Specification Award for bespoke product development work on the high-profile Nine Elms Point project in South London for Barratt London.
On Friday 15th February, at the inaugural AJ Specification Awards, UK-based wetroom systems manufacturer Impey was named as the winner of the ‘Bathroom’ category, for a unique, specialist range of tailored wetroom drainage solutions devised for the flagship Barratt Homes London development, Nine Elms Point in Lambeth.33259356318 190584995d o
Impey’s winning entry focused on the creation of a bespoke, high-quality range of wetroom drainage for a large-scale residential new build project. Impey’s R&D team worked closely with the Barratt London Specification team to fulfil requirements for the design of a range of extended width drainage apertures which would work across the development’s 645 residential apartments.

The modern, polished stainless-steel drain-tops which quickly and efficiently drain away water produced by the large rainforest shower heads, enhanced the high-quality look and style of the wetrooms across the development as well as coordinating with other accessories which had been specified for the project.
The judges commented that the bespoke product represented: ‘a very neat design solution’ and ‘a really good example of an iterative process of specification; of working together to overcome a tricky design challenge and find an appropriate solution for a specific project’; adding: ‘This collaboration will have a longer impact’ and ‘by modularising it, this solution has resulted in real long-term added benefit’.IMPEY NINEELMS vertical1 1

Stephen Pelling, Impey’s National Specification Manager said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award at the first-ever AJ Specification Awards. Our R&D team engineered an attractive, multifunctional product; taking into consideration the necessity for a striking, contemporary design and ease of on-site installation in over 600 wetrooms. It’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges at the AJ Specification Awards 2019.”
