Ideal Bathrooms conquer Scafell Pike

Bathroom distributor Ideal Bathrooms has raised almost £5000 towards children’s charity Barnardo’s after successfully climbing England’s highest mountain Scafell Pike.

Following the success of climbing Ben Nevis a year ago, an even larger party of 20 went to climb Scafell Pike, which is 3209 feet (978 metres) high.

Ideal Bathrooms’ sales director Rob St Barbe led a team of directors and staff from Ideal Bathrooms and sister company International Decorative Surfaces. Every member of the group successfully completed the climb.

“Some are better walkers and climbers than others of course,” said St Barbe. “However these events are about teamwork and everyone pulled together to ensure the group was supported and assisted wherever required. It was a great day with everyone really feeling the sense of camaraderie and achievement. Well done to everyone.”

This years’ climb completed a three-year programme conquering the UK’s 3 highest mountains. Ben Nevis (4,370 feet) was climbed last year and Snowdon (3,560 feet) in 2011.
