Boiler manufacturer Ideal has added to its Logic offer with a new combination boiler that takes domestic hot water performance up several levels.
Hot on the heels of Ideal’s success with the first three Logic models the latest addition to the family is being launched, and it represents a whole new level of combi boiler energy efficiency.
The Code Combi boasts all the benefits of the previous Logic models – the Combi, System and Heat Only – but with one important addition, a recuperator fitted in the flue outlet. This pre-heats the incoming cold DHW feed to reduce energy consumption and ensure that hot water delivery is quicker.
Available in outputs of 26kW, 33kW and 38kW, the Code Combi is capable of supporting up to Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
The additional fuel savings are not at the expense of space and fuss, since the Code Combi boasts easy installation and compact dimensions, being just 130mm taller than the rest of the Logic family.
SEDBUK efficiencies specifically relates to central heating, so the Code Combi offers the same rating (89% SEDBUK 2009) as the rest of the Logic family. However, Standard Assessment Procedure takes into account hot water performance and the use of the Code Combi though Appendix Q will reduce a typical house Dwelling Emission Rate (DER) by over 4%, making a significant contribution to achieving CSH levels.
As with the existing models, each boiler comes as a complete package, incorporating concealed system connections and filling loop, built-in automatic bypass and a flying lead to streamline installation even further. Other features include a push and clip flue turret connection, separately labelled hardware pack components, a universal condensate pipe connection and fully modulating operation.
