Ibstock looks at maximising growth

Independent builders merchants will be key to growth at the UK’s largest brick maker, the 17th Independent Builders’ Merchant Forum heard.

Ibstock looks at maximising growth

The annual forum saw almost 100 merchants gathered to hear about the latest innovations available to merchants from Ibstock, including design, technical, customer service and marketing support, as well as the most comprehensive brick range in the market.

Merchants were also given access to exclusive offers as Ibstock showcased its new range of continental inspired blended products from Leicester and Ellistown, as well as Ibstock-Kevington, Rutland, Everyday Specials and Tradesman ranges. There were also question and answer sessions with sales director, Tony France.

The 14 dedicated merchant account managers from Ibstock on hand to help merchants, find out more about the brick maker’s product training for merchants and watch key guest speaker, Anthony Hilton, financial editor at the London Evening Standard, deliver a speech on the economy.

France said: “It was great to see so many merchants attend our 17th IBMF. The central theme was ‘It’s easier with Ibstock’ to demonstrate that we had taken on feedback from last year and put it into action.

“We are currently a nation that has a good, consistent economy, and the key merchant areas of self-build and repairs and maintenance are growing. This year’s conference was all about how merchants can take advantage of that growth and how Ibstock can help. This could be by providing the latest literature and promotional material, ensuring they get bricks when they need them or lending expert specification or stocking advice. The key message is for merchants to discuss their requirements with us so we can continue to work with them as they build their operations and ensure demand is met.”

The business potential of direct-to-site orders was also showcased at the forum. Ibstock provided examples of how this approach can provide growth opportunities and can ensure merchants are positively linked to prestigious developments and projects. Ibstock provides a bespoke service for direct-to-site business, so merchants are encouraged to speak to their account managers to find out more and unlock this route to market.
