Builders merchant buying group IBC has created a new division focusing solely on working with garden and lifestyle centres.
The “IBC Garden” division has been formed to assist and add value to the procurement process of garden and lifestyle centres.
The new division will follow IBC’s merchant model, including free membership at the point of entry, sales and marketing support and bringing its existing buying group knowledge and buying power to a new sector of businesses across the UK.
John Brett, sales and marketing director for IBC, said: “It’s an obvious step for us in truth, a number of our existing Supply Partners cut across both General Merchant Supply and Garden Centres and our model lends itself perfectly for the many Independent Garden & Lifestyle centres across the UK.”
IBC’s National Sales Manager, Marc Coulson, added: “We are really excited about the launch, we are already working with our first Garden Group Members, garnering feedback and starting to create value for both them and our supply chain.
“This is something we are committed to and fully expect this to be every bit as exciting as our builders merchant division. Within the team we have previous experience in working with Garden Centres and we’re looking forward to bringing this expertise to the new IBC Garden Group.”
