Independent builders merchant Hughes Forrest has opened a fourth branch.

The new site, in Cardiff, is 1.5acres and is on a site formerly belonging to brick factor Manor Brick which has relocated.

Hughes Forrest director Richard Brian says that Hughes Forrest had been looking for a while for the opportunity to expand in this area.

“It’s a good size for us and it has excellent transport links to the M4,” he says.

It is the company’s fourth branch, the others being at Erlake, Blackwood and Newport, the head office.

“Cardiff is out capital city of Wales so there is great potential here,” he says.

“There are a lot of builders merchants there though they tend to be mostly national chains. We believe that as an independent merchant offering a wide range and good personal service we should do well.”
