Howarth Timber to host a month of fundraising breakfasts

After a bumper fundraising year in 2017, Howarth Timber & Building Supplies is running a month-long series of charity breakfast mornings across its network of merchant branches.

This March, Howarth Timber’s branches will host a series of breakfast mornings where customers can fill up on bacon butties, meet Howarth Timber’s suppliers, and have the chance to win exclusive prizes, all with the aim of raising money for the company’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK.

Howarth Timber is raising money for Cancer Research UK throughout 2018, with company-wide initiatives as well as individual staff member fundraising efforts. The funds raised will support the life-saving work that Cancer Research UK carries out, such as the development of new screening techniques to detect cancer earlier.

Last year, the company raised over £27,000 for the charity through fundraising including a week-long series of breakfast mornings, as well as charity challenges such as the Three Peaks, sponsored head-shaves and charity boxing matches.

Commenting on the planed month of breakfast mornings, Nicholas Howarth, managing director of Howarth Timber, said: “Thanks to the efforts of our staff and customers, we were able to raise a phenomenal amount of money for Cancer Research last year, and all of our branches are getting set to add more to the total this year.

“Our breakfast mornings proved very popular last year, with new and existing customers heading into the branches to enjoy a delicious breakfast and contribute to a good cause. Expanding them into a month-long initiative means that customers can benefit from more deals and competitions, while donating to a worthy cause that is close to our hearts.

“I’d encourage customers to get down to their local branch as early in the day as possible to make sure they make the most of the breakfast morning!”
