Howarth Timber purchases Northern Timber Ltd

Builders and timber merchant Howarth Timber has continued its expansion by purchasing the assets and trades of Northern Timber Ltd in Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
The outlet will be known as “Howarth Timber Brighouse” and will become the company’s 28th branch, with Howarth completing the purchase on September 30. They intend to invest in the site by refurbishing and upgrading its office and collection centre, and hope to gain additional space to expand the site.

Nicholas Howarth, managing director at the merchant, said: “We are pleased to add Northern Timber to our merchant branch network. The branch and its staff have an excellent reputation for friendliness, being knowledgeable and offering first-class customer service.

“This ties in with how we like to operate our branches. We are confident that given the support which being part of a larger like-minded company will give them, that the Northern Timber team will be able to further build upon their success and make their branch even better for their customers to buy from.”

Terry Egan, managing director of Northern Timber, said: “I and the rest of the team at Northern Timber are pleased to be joining Howarth Timber. The way Howarth Timber operates seems to fit in closely with how we trade with our customers.

“We are excited at the opportunities that being part of a larger company offers us, and I am confident that joining Howarth Timber will be good for our customers as well.”
